- Educational Qualification: A Degree from any UGC-recognised University (specific degrees required for certain posts such as B.L., B.Com, M.C.A./M.Sc. IT/CS, etc.). Preference given for specialised qualifications as mentioned in the notification.
- Knowledge of Tamil: Candidates must possess adequate knowledge of Tamil (SSLC/HSC/Degree with Tamil as language / Tamil medium / Second Class Language Test in Tamil conducted by TNPSC).
- Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026):
- Most posts: Minimum 18 years (20 years for Sub Registrar Grade-II; 22 years for Probation Officer)
- Maximum for Others: 32 years (varies for specific posts)
- No maximum age limit for SC/SC(A)/ST/MBC/DC/BC/BCM for most posts
- Additional concessions for PwBD, Ex-servicemen and Destitute Widows as per rules

Eligible candidates must apply ONLINE ONLY through the official TNPSC website. No other mode of application will be accepted.
➢ Step 1: Visit the official website www.tnpscexams.in or the direct apply link.
➢ Step 2: Complete One Time Registration (OTR) by paying ₹150/- (if not already registered – valid for 5 years).
➢ Step 3: Login using OTR User ID & Password and click “APPLY” against this recruitment.
➢ Step 4: Verify auto-filled details and fill additional required information.
➢ Step 5: Upload recent photograph (taken on or after notification date) and signature as per specifications.
➢ Step 6: Choose two examination centres for Prelims (one for PwBD candidates).
➢ Step 7: Pay the Preliminary Examination fee of ₹100/- online (unless exempted).
➢ Step 8: Preview, verify all details and submit the application. Note down the Application Number for future reference.
