Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 dated 01 September 2026 for recruitment to Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts in various departments of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A total of 2,863 vacancies have been advertised under UT Cadre, Divisional Cadre and District Cadre through General Administration Department, offering a major opportunity for 8th / 10th / 12th pass candidates who are domiciles of J&K.

Note: Posts are available in various departments including Agriculture Production, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Estates, Public Works (R&B), Higher Education, Culture, Floriculture, ARI & Trainings and others. Detailed Item-wise breakup is available in Annexure-A of the official notification.
- Domicile: Candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on or before the last date of application (03.11.2026).
- Educational Qualification (as on 03.11.2026):
- Class-IV (MTS): Minimum Matriculation (10th Pass) and Maximum 10+2 (as per S.O. 184 of 2020 read with SRO 99 of 2008).
- Sanitation Worker: Minimum 8th Pass and Maximum 10+2 (as per S.O. 132 of 2022).
- Important: Candidates possessing qualification higher than 10+2 are not eligible for these posts.

Additional 5 years upper age relaxation is available to eligible casual workers claiming additional weightage as per applicable J&K Class-IV special recruitment rules.
- Pay Scale: Level SL-1 – ₹14,800 – ₹47,100
- Selected candidates will also be entitled to DA, HRA and other allowances as applicable to Class-IV posts in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

Eligible candidates must apply ONLINE ONLY through the official JKSSB website. No other mode of application will be accepted.
➢ Step 1: Visit the official website https://jkssb.nic.in.
➢ Step 2: Click on the link for Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 / Apply Online.
➢ Step 3: Complete the registration process and generate Registration Number & Password.
➢ Step 4: Fill the online application form carefully with personal, educational, cadre and category details. Apply only for the eligible Item Number / cadre.
➢ Step 5: Upload photograph, signature and other required documents as per the prescribed format.
➢ Step 6: Pay the application fee online through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card.
➢ Step 7: Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
A total of 2,863 Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts have been advertised under UT, Divisional and District Cadres.
The last date to submit the online application is 03 November 2026.
For Open Merit, maximum age is 40 years as on 01.01.2026 (born not earlier than 01.01.1986 and not later than 01.01.2008). Reserved categories get relaxation up to 43 years, and PwBD up to 42 years.
Class-IV (MTS): Minimum 10th Pass and Maximum 10+2. Sanitation Worker: Minimum 8th Pass and Maximum 10+2. Candidates with qualification higher than 10+2 are not eligible. J&K domicile is mandatory.
Written Exam + additional weightage marks (home division/district, family not in govt. service, widows/divorced/orphan girls, casual workers) + Document Verification / Medical Examination. Final merit is out of 100 marks.
₹600 for OM/OBC/RBA/ALC-IB candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS/PwBD candidates.
